Our Story

A Journey of Faith Since 1972

church 1972

The church began in Kinondoni Shamba in 1972, with the first pastor being Nzowa from the mother church in Temeke.

move_up 1973

At the beginning of 1973, the church was relocated from the Kinondoni Shamba area and a new building was constructed at Kinondoni "B," where it currently stands. Pastor Nzowa left, and he was succeeded by Pastor Theofilo Kimaro, who did not stay long, and was later followed by Pastor Gardneza Lukeyi. Due to his wife's illness, Pastor Lukeyi had to leave, and for a period the church remained without a pastor. Missionary Ford oversaw the church together with the Senior Pastor of Temeke, the late Rev. Simon Mallya. Later, Brother Mark Mhina, who had been the missionary's interpreter, was seen as capable of assisting with pastoral duties between 1973 and 1974, and was eventually appointed as a full pastor until October 1981.

Due to leadership and church development reasons, the first pastoral transfers within the T.A.G. church were carried out, and Pastor Mark Mhina was transferred to T.A.G. Dodoma mjini. He was replaced by Pastor Rogathe Z. Swai from Arusha mjini, who took over the church when it had between 160–170 members.

The church continued to grow, and by 1990 the membership had reached nearly 1,000.

By the year 2000 it had grown to about 2,000 members.

celebration Today

Currently, the church has many members, 7 pastors, 12 church elders, deacons and departmental leaders, as well as no fewer than 200 workers. Overall, God has sustained the church; His goodness, favor, faithfulness, and grace have caused it to grow and be strengthened in an extraordinary way. The great God of Jesus Christ has been our Ebenezer and our peace in Kinondoni Revival Church (T.A.G.)… "To do Your will, O my God, is my delight; yes, Your law is within my heart." Psalm 40:8.
